What is happening with Nana and PopPops??

January is almost gone. The first month of 2011 and it is already to the end of it. How time seems to go by so fast.
So many things, good things are taking place...here is a very brief recap of what is going on.

Our CCC small group is studying the book "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan. If you have not read it, I would encourage you to do so. This book will make you really stop and evaluate so many aspects of your Christian life.

Our CCC family started Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University...Steve is the facilitator and we are in week 3. Steve and I have been living the Dave Ramsey plan for a couple of years, but over the past year we have gotten a little lazy in our plan, so with Steve facilitating this class, it will bring us right back to the dedication we need to be on.

Steve and I are working on getting healthy. We are both exercising regularly and eating very healthy. Mine was partly because of a program my company has that is called Peak Health, but I also wanted to feel better and have more energy as when it is really cold outside (which we have had a really cold January) I just want to come home and put on warm clothes and become a couch potato. So having the goals with Peak Health really get me motivated to move and eat healthy.

We also would like to connect/reconnect with one couple a month. This could be someone that is new to us, or that we have not socialized with in a long time and need to catch up with, or someone that we have known through our CCC family but we want to get to know better. This is building our personal community. Enjoying people in a simple way and simply enjoying people.

And of course because this is a blog called Nana and PopPops, I must mention that in all of our comings and goings, we skype with Carter and Coleman, Mommy and sometimes Daddy almost everyday. It is absolutely the best to be able to see them in their daily routine. Sometimes I just watch them play, sometimes we play peek-a-boo, sometimes I see them eating their dinner in their highchairs, sometimes I talk and they smile, and sometimes they are just not happy campers and our skype time is very short, but there is nothing better then for the screen to come up and for Nana to say Hey Carter or Hey Coleman, this is Nana, and have them give me the sweetest little smile. How my heart melts. Then PopPops will come up to the computer and and say hey little guys and they will just look and smile......if the kids have to live in Las Vegas and be away, Skype is the way to go...how thankful I am for it.

Jeremy had a birthday this month (Jan. 11) and turned 29 years old! That is hard to believe. He is my boy and oh how I love him. Just had dinner with him and his girlfriend Tracy tonight and we laughed and laughed at him. He was talking about going out on the boat this summer and being afraid of the boat tipping over and him being thrown into the ocean and a shark coming to eat him...my 6'4" Marine son...telling of his fear, he had us all in stitches tonight.

Kellie has started a class on cake decorating. I wish I knew how to post pictures on here. She shared with us her very first cake she decorated and it looks really good. She has an artistic side to her just like her daddy and sister. I have already put my order in for her to decorate a cake for her daddy's birthday in February. She is quite excited about it.

That is what has been happening in the life of Nana and PopPops for the month of January.
